Genealogy — Many of the families of the hearty souls who emigrated from the Abruzzo and Marche Regions of Italy are are eager to learn more about the lives and trials of their ancestors. Others want to make contact with relatives both in Italy and abroad. These endeavors are almost always extremely rewarding (and at times very emotional) for both those doing the searching as well as those who are fortunate enough to be contacted by their eager kin looking to rekindle long lost ties. Interested individuals are encouraged to read the following and to make contact(s) as approptiate.

• My grandfather, Domenic (Domenico) Zenobi ( 11-20-1870 to 12-20-1957 in Grove City, Pennsylvania) was from Torano Nuovo, near Teramo. My grandmother Luisa Durante ( 3-20-1879 to 9-29-1961) was from Amatrice. They were married in Italy Oct.1904, possibly at the church Santa Maria Di Monta or San Lorenzo (Flaviano Parish) in Amatrice, or perhaps in Sommati or Torano Nuovo. My grandfather was an orphan and we are trying to find out how he got to the US. Luisa came to America thourh Ellis Island in 1906 with my 1 year old aunt and her brother. There is no record of my grandfather Domenic coming through. He came here before she did looking for work. They settled in Pittsburgh PA.
